
Introduction:
Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated on various dates in the United States, Canada, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Liberia. It began as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. It’s the day of the family gatherings having feasts. Turkey is one of the main dishes eaten in these gatherings. This is the time for the women to shine with their recipies and get applause from other member of the family.
About the Recipie:
The recipie we’re going to share today is Butter Roasted Turkey with Gravy and Spicy Baked Potatoes all credits to the legendary chef Gordon Ramsay.
Ingrediants:
1 Whole Turkey(5kg), Butter, Salt, Pepper, Olive Oil, Lemon Zest and Juice, 3 Cloves of Garlic, Parsley, 2 Onions, Bay Leaf, Roasted Turkey Broth, Roasted Lemon, Roasted Onions, Rosemarry, Tomato, Apple Cider Vinegar, Chicken Stock, Walnuts, Potatos, Chilli Flakes, Turmerric.
Turkey Marination:
To soft butter add touch of salt, olive oil and lemon juice, then add lemon zest. Add finely chopped three cloves of garlic and handful of parsle and mix well. Season the inside of turkey with salt and pepper, add two onions and lemon inside the cavity and then add bay leaves. Add flavoured button under the turkey skin on breast, try not to break the skin else butter will burn. Once the breast part is filled cover the other outer parts with remaining butter mix. To get best results do this one night before cooking.
Turkey Roating:
Put the turket Into the oven for 10 mins at 210. After 10 mins take the turkey out of the oven and base it. Turn down the oven to 180 and roast for 2.5 hours with constant basing. Once roasted rest the turkey for 2 hours.
Gravy Preparation:
Drain the fat from roasted turkey, pull onions, lemons and chop and add to the pan. Add a rosemary and couple of baby tomatos and add a couple of pieces of turkey meat parts into the gravy pan. Add the apple cide vineger as needed. When the liquid is half mash the vegetables and add chicken stock and reduce to half again. Add rose marry as finishing touch and the gravy is ready.
Spicy Baked Tomatos and Serving:
Peel potatoes and boil and add season with salt and chilli fleaks and turmeric. Add few drops of olive oil and 230 degree baking for few minutes. Add crushed nuts at the gravy serving botton and ready for serving.
